Society is experiencing an information explosion which will impact on the futures of or children in all areas of their lives and in all fields of emplyment. It is of great benefit to students to continue to develop their knowledge and skills in this field and to become competent and confident users of computer hardware and software. ICT is also a valuable lead in to the senior subject Information Processing & Technology.

Recommendations
It is crucial that students have an interest in computers and are willing to work hard. It is also important that students and parents are familiar with the school's computer and internet usage policies. This subject is strongly recommended for those interested in studying IPT in Years 11 and 12.
