State High has four Sporting Houses with a long held tradition of healthy competion. These four houses compete in a range of areas including: The Great Tunnellball Race, Swimmng Carnival, Wheelie Bin Race, Cross Country, Athletics Carnival, War Cries and a range of lunchtime activities. At present we look at information from Primary Schools to decide into which sporting house a student is placed. This allows us to spread the talent across all four houses. This often means that students are not placed in the same sporting house as their siblings, as often talent in specific fields runs in a family. This does, however, prevent any "family tradition" of being affiliated with a particular house. We are currently reviewing this process and would appreciate your feedback. Would you like to see the current practice stay or would you prefer all members of the same family to share a common sporting house? Please let us know. |
